Speaker: Omar Fernández Sanfrancisco, Manager of R&D Department - ATHISA GROUP
Omar Fernández Sanfrancisco was born in Almeria (Spain), in 1984. Licenced in Biology Sciences at Granada´s University in 2008, specialized on Microbiology. Worked at the Research and Innovation Unit of a Regional Hospital (Hospital de Poniente, Almería), and then at Biochemistry, Genetics and Molecular Biology Department of the Medicine Faculty (University of Granada). Master Degree on Biotechnology (University of Granada), and Master on Innovation Management (Spanish Agency for Normalization, AENOR). Working at ATHISA Group since 2009 as member of the R&D Department, focussing on MIMO System Project development. Responsible of preparation and following up of projects, technical design and development of essays. In 2013, his team was awarded with the Eureka Innovation Award for the MIMO System Project. Active member of the International Solid Waste Association (ISWA) Healthcare Waste Working Group, and involved in different R&D and Cooperation projects with Spanish and European institutions.

Speaker: Dr. Roberta Hofman-Caris, Senior Scientist Water Technology - KWR Watercycle Research Institute
Roberta Hofman-Caris studied chemical engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology, where she obtained a master in organic chemistry and a PhD in polymer chemistry. Subsequently she worked for 19 years at the central research laboratory of Akzo Nobel for the business units coatings, pharmaceuticals and chemicals. In 2009 Roberta switched to KWR, where she is involved in water treatment, with main topics oxidation and adsorption.
