Susan Wilburn

International Sustainability Director, Health Care Without Harm

As International Sustainability Director, Susan Wilburn manages HCWH’s involvement in the UNDP/WHO/HCWH health care waste management and mercury elimination project in four African countries funded by the GEF. She also manages the HCWH/UNDP Sustainable Health in Procurement Project (SHiPP), and coordinates the GGHH technical areas on waste, chemicals, pharmaceuticals and procurement and represents health sector civil society organisations on the Bureau of the International Conference on Chemicals Management. Prior to joining HCWH, Susan served for eight years as Technical Officer in the Department of Public Health, Environmental and Social Determinants of Health at the World Health Organizations in Geneva, Switzerland. She is a nurse and international occupational & environmental health specialist (fields of study: nursing, public health, epidemiology).
