Harriët Tiemens

Vice-Mayor, Nijmegen City Council

Harriët Tiemens has been a Nijmegen vice-mayor since May 2014. She is responsible for Sustainability, Housing, and Mobility. Tiemens studied Environmental Science at Saxion University of Applied Sciences and Public Administration at Leiden University. She then went on to work as a management consultant in the business services sector, advising companies and government institutions on policy and organisational development. She joined the political party GroenLinks as an active member in 1999. In 2002 she was elected to the municipal council of Rheden, where she served as vice-mayor from 2007 to 2014.
